What are Lozenges?

Lozenges are solid preparations that are intended to dissolve or disintegrate slowly in the mouth. They contain one or more medicaments usually in a flavored, sweetened base. Lozenges are most often used for localized effects in the mouth. They can also be used for systemic action as the drug is well absorbed through the buccal lining or is swallowed.

How many lozenges should be taken in a day?

For adults, children above 6 years it is advisable to dissolve 2 drops (one at a time) slowly in the mouth. Repeat every 2 hours if needed or as directed by a doctor and for children below 6 years of age it is advisable to consult doctor.

What is sore throat?

Sore throat is one of the most common health complaints, particularly during the colder months of the year, when respiratory diseases are at their peak.

How to prevent sore throat?
